Canberra Hockey Academy

The Canberra Hockey Academy (Academy) is a player development program for players in the Under 13 and Under 15 age groups that provides hockey coaching, game and competition opportunities. The Canberra Hockey Academy is proudly sponsored by F-H-E - Field Hockey Equipment

In 2013, the Canberra Hockey Academy will run as a 2 day training camp. This will provide the opportunity for athletes to training in a more intensive block, focusing on skill development and practice game scenarios. The camps will be offered in both the April and July school holidays, the with second camp co-en-siding with the Under 18 Women's National Championships, which Hockey ACT will be hosting. Please note, athletes must commit to both days of the training camps if they wish to be involved with Academy.

SECOND TRAINING CAMP

Nominations for the second academy training camp are now open. If you were unable to attend the first training camp, but wish to attend the second one in July, please ensure you nominate for the second camp. If you nominated for the first training camp, please ensure you email the Programs Coordinator to confirm whether you will be attending the second camp or not.

Wagga Wagga Academy Challenge

Hockey ACT has been invited to attend the Wagga Wagga Academy Challenge to be held in Wagga Wagga over the weekend of Saturday 16th March and Sunday 17th March, 2013. 

Teams have now been selected and can be viewed by clicking on the links below:

Training for all teams will be held at the National Hockey Centre, Lyneham on Thursday 14th March from 5-6pm. All girls teams will be training on the Powell Field, and all boys teams will be training on the Watt Field. If you are unable to attend training, please ensure you contact the Programs Coordinator at Hockey ACT. 

Logistics:
Players will be required to pay a $25.00 fee, which can be payable to Hockey ACT on Thursday at training.

All players are required to arrange their own transport to and from Wagga, and arrange their own accommodation for the Saturday night.

All players are required to arrive 30 minutes prior to the commencement of their first game.

Please note there are no food outlets available at the grounds, so players will be required to bring their own food and drinks for throughout the day.

2012 Canberra Hockey Academy Squads

Hockey ACT would like to congratulate and thank all players who participated in the Canberra Hockey Academy in 2012.  The program is an important part of the development of junior players within the Canberra region. Hockey ACT would also like to thank all the people who volunteered their time to assist with these teams in managerial or coaching capacities.
