Big Field Basics is a new initiative for HACT in 2026, designed to help young players prepare for the transition into full-field hockey competitions, including transitioning between each of the following competitions; Hookin2Hockey, U10s (Div 1 & 2), and U12s (Div 1 & 2).

This program supports children who are:

  • Stepping up into the next competition up in 2026 (by age or ability), or

  • Who are playing their first year in 2026 and would benefit from extra guidance and confidence-building.

The step between each competition can feel overwhelming for young players. Big Field Basics aims to bridge that gap, providing players with a fun and supportive learning environment to help them understand the game and feel confident heading into the 2026 season.
