Hockey ACT is welcoming individuals of diverse communitites to join our Multicultural Come & Try Day. The Come & Try Day is the perfect "taste" of hockey - come and experience what the sport is all about!

All ages and skill levels are welcome. Equipment is provided, please wear comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes.

Hockey ACT are running summer skills sessions for multicultural children. Over the 6 week program, children will have the opportunity to learn the skills of hockey and meet new friends. 

Sessions are delivered in a fun and safe environment by experienced Hockey ACT coaches. 

No hockey experience is necessary, all skill levels are welcome. Sessions are targeted at primary school aged children. 

 

Date: Thursday 19th October - Thursday 23rd October, 2023

Location: 196 Mouat St, National Hockey Centre, Lyneham

Time: 5:00pm - 6:00pm

Cost: $60 per child

All equipment is provided.

Please wear comfortable clothing, enclosed shoes and bring a water bottle. Mouthguards are recommended.

Represent your cultural identity and take part in the League of Nations Cup in 2024!

The League of Nations Cup is an all ages hockey tournament that celebrates the diversity of cultures. The League of Nations Cup is open to all skill levels, with mix gendered teams of 6 - 10 players. Round robin games will be played on a quarter field with modified rules for 2x10 minute halves. Individuals or smaller groups can nominate to be put with others to make up a team.

Game Overview

Participants: 6 per team. Players of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. (Goalkeepers optional).

Field: Playing area: 55m x 22m

Match time: 20 minutes. 2 x 10-minute halves centrally timed

Umpires: Provided by Hockey ACT to facilitate games

Uniforms: No set colour for shorts/skirts/skorts or socks. (All teams will be in contact with Hockey ACT around shirt colours to avoid clashes)

Equipment: All equipment used will be modified hockey equipment, suitable for all age groups and skill levels (plastic sticks & soft balls).

*Playing equipment will be available for individual and team use. We recommend players bring a mouthguard and shin pads to play. The Hockey Shop onsite has also a large range of equipment available for purchase.

Multicultural Ambassador Program

We are always seeking members to contribute to the Multicultural Ambassador Program. We welcome all interest and contributions from our members.

The primary objective of the Multicultural Ambassador program is to strengthen the connections of Hockey to multicultural communities within ACT. We are seeking members of the Hockey ACT community who are passionate about sport and are committed to growing the sport of hockey to join the Hockey ACT Multicultural Ambassador program.
