The Annual Chris MacKinnon Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend Is back for 2024!

Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th August, 2024

DONATE HERE

The Chris MacKinnon Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend is an annual Hockey ACT event where the hockey community goes pink to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. The weekend has been running since 2013 in honour of one of the Hockey ACT community Life Members, Chris MacKinnon, who sadly lost her breast cancer battle in January 2013.

Since the event's inception, the Hockey ACT community have managed to raise over $115,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). This is a fantastic effort and we appreciate the support we have received from our community.

Hockey ACT encourages our hockey community to Pink it up for the round and accessorise with all things pink (hair ribbons, wrist bands, bandanas). For teams wishing to
wishing to change their playing uniforms (socks, tops, bottoms) to pink for the weekend to please contact Hockey ACT (communications@hockeyact.org.au) with details of all teams partaking, and which item of their uniform will be changed. Requests will be accepted on a (pardon the pun) first-in-best-dressed basis. If there happens to be a clash between teams, we will suggest alternatives. As per previous years, uniform changes will require a $50 donation per team to NBCF, which can be paid to the above donation page.
