Chill Challenge Round 1 – Women's Match Report
Round 1 of the 2026 Chill Challenge kicked off on Tuesday 24th March, with the ACT U21 Women facing off against the Avalanche Women’s side in a competitive and hard-fought contest.
In a tense and physical encounter, it was the experienced Avalanche outfit who came away with a 3–1 victory, showcasing composure in key moments to secure the result.
Ruby Worrall led the way on the scoreboard with a standout performance, netting two goals, while Cassandra Drayton added a third to seal the win. The ACT U21 side continued to apply pressure throughout the match and were rewarded with a goal to Lilly Twigg.
Across the field, Avalanche were well-served by strong performances from Taquira McGrath and Ruby Worrall, while goalkeepers Gabrielle Millan and Sarah Steinhardt were kept busy, making important contributions to maintain control of the match.
For the ACT U21 Women, Maya McGrath and Lucy Nash were influential, showing resilience and intent against a more experienced opposition.
Overall, it was a high-quality opening fixture for the Chill Challenge, setting the tone for an exciting series ahead.

Chill Challenge Round 1 – Men’s Match Report
Round 1 of the 2026 Chill Challenge Men’s series took place on Wednesday 25th March, with the ACT U21 Men taking on the Blizzard Men in an entertaining, high-scoring contest.
The Blizzard side showcased their experience across the match, coming away with a 6–4 victory in a fast-paced and attacking encounter.
Niranjan Gupte led the scoring for Blizzard with an impressive hat-trick, while Charlie Dorman added two goals and Aiden Dooley contributed one. The ACT U21 Men responded strongly throughout the game, with Hamish Morrison scoring twice, alongside goals to Ozzie Cameron and James Taylor.
Blizzard were well-served by strong performances from Charlie Dorman, Dylan Brick and Oscar Smart, who all had a significant impact on the flow of the game. For the U21 side, Hamish Morrison and Justin Murray were standout contributors, continuing to drive their team forward.
Both Cameron Brick and Finlay Morris were kept busy in goal for the ACT U21 team, producing a number of quality saves to keep their side in the contest.
Overall, it was an exciting opening fixture that highlighted both the skill of the emerging U21 group and the composure of the experienced Blizzard lineup.
