Australia Practice Match Series
Four ACT athletes have been named to take the pitch in the Australia Practice Match Series from the 26th of April - 4th of May in Perth, WA.
Georgina West was selected in the Australia A team earlier this year after a successful Hockey One and Junior World Cup Qualifiers campaign.
Georgie was deep into her ACT U21 Nationals Preparation when she was named to take on India in a 2 game series.
Australia A came out victorious in both matches, with a 5-3 win in game 1 and a 3-2 win in game 2.
She has returned to the ACT and will head to Bendigo on Thursday May 1 to start her U21 campaign with the rest of her team.
The excitment doesnt stop there.
Recently locating from Canberra to Perth, Wests local Jay Macdonald pulled on the Kookaburras jersey for the first time against Malaysia.
In a dominant display over Malaysia, the men finished with a 5-2 win.
To add to the fun, Jay will get to take the field again with fellow Wests players Anand Gupte and Davis Atkin later in the series.
While the these games are not sanctioned international matches and players do not receive official caps for their appearance, we are proud of the experience and growth of our ACT players and love to see athletes on their journey.
Remaining matches can be streamed on www.livehockey.com.au with a pass for $11 or $6 per match.
