National Volunteer Week
Published Mon 04 May 2026
Hockey ACT is proud to celebrate the people who make our game possible, with nominations now open for National Volunteer Week 2026.
Taking place from 18–24 May, National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering, recognising the incredible contribution of millions of volunteers across the country.
This year’s theme, “Your Year to Volunteer”, encourages communities to both recognise those already giving their time and inspire others to get involved and make a difference.
Across Hockey ACT, volunteers are the backbone of our sport. From coaches, umpires and technical officials to administrators, team managers and every role inbetween, volunteers play a vital role in delivering competitions, supporting athletes and creating a positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
National Volunteer Week provides the perfect opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate those individuals who go above and beyond for our hockey community.
Hockey ACT is calling on clubs, members and the wider community to nominate a volunteer who has made a meaningful impact.
