Round One: Canberra Chill v Adelaide Fire

The Canberra Chill will launch their 2026 One Active Hockey One League campaign under lights at EPC Solar Hockey Stadium on Thursday 8 October, hosting the Adelaide Fire in a blockbuster opening-night double-header.

After months of preparation, the Chill’s men’s and women’s squads are ready to take centre stage and begin their push for Hockey One glory. With new faces joining established Canberra stars, international talent strengthening both squads and plenty of excitement surrounding the new season, Thursday night promises to be a fantastic showcase of elite Australian hockey.

The Canberra Chill Women will get the night underway at 6:00pm, beginning a new chapter under Head Coach Paul Sureda.

The women enter the season with an exciting squad featuring a strong Canberra core alongside a number of high-quality international additions. Fans can expect plenty of speed, skill and attacking intent as the Chill look to make an immediate statement against Adelaide.

The action continues at 7:45pm, when the Canberra Chill Men take the field.

The men have retained a strong core of experienced players while adding further international and high-performance talent to their squad for 2026. With an exciting attacking style, a strong defensive unit and quality throughout the field, the Chill will be looking to start their campaign on the front foot in front of their home supporters.

There is nothing quite like Hockey One under lights, and opening night is the perfect opportunity for Canberra's hockey community to come together and get behind the Chill.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early, wear their Chill colours and help create an electric atmosphere at EPC Solar Hockey Stadium as Canberra takes on Adelaide in two huge matches.
