Support the Carter Field Upgrade – A Vital Resource for the Hockey ACT Community

The Carter Field, the show court at the National Hockey Centre, is entering its 9th season of play, having hosted over 10,000 hours of training, junior and senior matches, and international competitions. After years of heavy use, the field is showing significant wear and urgently requires repairs. Without these upgrades, the field will become unusable by the end of 2025.

To restore Carter Field to international standards and ensure it can continue hosting elite matches, an upgrade costing $1.5 million is needed. Despite efforts from Hockey ACT, this project cannot proceed without crucial government funding.

Alicia Payne, Federal MP for Canberra and a former local hockey player, understands the importance of this issue and is working to secure federal support for the upgrades. She has launched a petition to demonstrate community backing and encourage the Labor government to invest in this essential project.

We need your help! Regardless of your political views, this upgrade is vital for our local hockey community. Without federal funding, Carter Field will no longer be safe for play after this year.

Please show your support by signing the petition here: Upgrade the Carter Field Petition. It takes just a minute to make a big difference!
